Our highly specialized machining equipment allows us to provide clients with unique capabilities not seen in other machining shops. For example, the Doonsan 850M VTL has a 32 inch diameter hydraulic chuck. With this chuck IBS has the ability to turn medium to large components.
Our Doosan VTL can be program as a conventional lathe doing simple turning, boring and center line drilling. Or utilizing the live tooling, drill and tap in the z axis doing bolt hole patterns or drill and tap in the X axis.
To compliment the Doosan V850M, we have purchase the Doosan Puma 2600M. With this horizontal lathe we have turn diameters of 15 inches and less. The Puma 2600 comes with live tooling in the turret along with a Renishaw Tool Presetter.
When these two lathes we are able to turn diameters from 34 inches and down.
With this capability IBS can eliminate the number of setups required to machine our clients parts, our client’s cost goes down and eliminates the errors that occur when moving components from one machine to another.
On the other hand our three Vertical Machining Centers are equipped with high pressure coolant through the spindle, spindles are BT40 Big Plus. The advantage here is solid tool contact with the machine spindle.
Both Matsuura's are wired to accept a Yuasa Rotary indexing tables.
With our three machines IBS covers the rpm range for most materials with machines having an 8,000, 12,000 and 15,000 rpm spindles. With this range we are able to drill, mill and tap in either aluminum or steels.
IBS utilizes Tool Life Management on longer run production runs on these machines to monitor, predict and eliminate tool failures.
Along with working with major tooling suppliers such as Ingersoll, Ham Precision, Balax and YG, with their help we are looking at new ways to decrease cycle times and improve quality.
